Recently, National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT), an apex body for conducting vocational courses in India under the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Govt. of India has combined two trades Health Inspector and Sanitary Inspector into one calling it "Health Sanitary Inspector” and affiliated it thus giving this trade more recognisation in India and abroad and worldwide. Health Sanitary Inspector is a person involved in the inspection and promotion of health and sanitary measures in a community. He is the man to implement public health activities. The health inspector can also be referred to as "Health Guide" or "Health Worker" or "Health Assistant". Nature of the work: Routine inspection of food services. Authorising licenses and permits for food. Inspecting recreational areas Inspect healthy housing and sanitation for all people. Authorizing and issuing permits for installation of oil well. Health education disease control measures Assuring safe drinking water to all people.
